Liposome (Liposomal formulation)

What does liposomal formulation mean?

A liposome is a tiny lipid bubble, i.e. a “fat bubble”, formed in aqueous solutions from so-called phospholipids, which have a hydrophilic (water-loving) and a hydrophobic (water-repelling) part (hydrophilic head and two hydrophobic hydrocarbon tails).

A revolutionary transport system for nutrients

Certain active substances cannot be completely absorbed by the body; they are already broken down in the gastrointestinal tract and only reach the blood and body cells in small numbers. If, for example, micronutrients are presented in liposomal form, this means that they are enclosed in such lipomas. The principle of liposomal formulation is based on the natural phenomenon described above; phospholipids entrap liquids in a lipid bubble under certain conditions. With a liposomal formulation, the ingredients are better protected, less lost on their way through the gastrointestinal tract and via the mucosal and intestinal epithelial cells into the bloodstream, making them more bioavailable to the body
