Ashwaganda

Sleeping berry root

The German name for Ashwaganda is Schlafbeerenwurzel (sleeping berry root), which already reveals something about an area of application. Sometimes the name Indian ginseng is also used. The original countries of origin of Ashwaganda are Africa, China and also the Middle East. It is a nightshade plant that is actually not demanding, but does not tolerate frost, which limits its distribution somewhat.
